Finally functioning on full power after Sandy, which is more than I can say for my parents and relatives in Connecticut and New York. Let’s let the polls speak for us tomorrow when we get to…gauge responsiveness, shall we say. Speaking of which: tomorrow’s officially Election Day! I’ll be down at Democracy Plaza at 30 Rock, and I hope NYers come by and check it out. Even if you don’t DON’T FORGET TO VOTE!!! Let’s move downward, shall we?
This week has been nuts for nuts, since it’s almost Halloween and so everything is now revolving around costumes. Let’s just say there have been duct tape dresses, beanies, cat and pig ears and wigs…and we’re still a week and a half out from Halloween. But other things are apparently happening too! Moving on!
My first American weekend back consisted of sitting around my the pool doing nothing, spinning, and featured a cameo by Chipotle. U-S-A! U-S-A! HEADLINES!
Summer is coming to a crushing end. I love the beach and rooftop bars and bathing suits and jorts and I BEYOND love flip flops (as if I won’t wear them well into fall), but I also love fall. I love scarves, plaid shirts, crunching leaves, and I LOVE FALL SPORTS! I’m in my last year of being able to enjoy collegiate sports on a leisurely basis, so let’s break down why everyone should love fall sports. FALL SPORTS!
Despite the fact that the 4th of July is descending on us in a blaze of fireworks, hot dogs and people wearing American flag jorts, I will be leaving this glorious nation this evening. Hopefully I’ll find some other ex-pats who want to celebrate our independence (from the country I’ll be living in…awkward)! Anyway, weekend news! What up?
There are a great many things I geek out over. Shiny things, neon dresses, lipsticks, coffees, some Twitter junk, and, of course: lax. I had a fantastic time in the press box with Eamon McAnaney and Paul Carcaterra almost 2 weeks ago (they introduced themselves and my dry throat let me rasp out “I know! I’m a big fan!”, which I’m not positive they believed…), but what was I doing there? Simple. I had been tapped by the lovely man in the ESPN truck to take stats. How did that go?
Did we all have good weekends? Good, great grand, excellent. Moving on.
Sup birches? If you’re reading this, I assume you survived Memorial Day weekend. Congratulations, the summer has begun. And what a weekend it was, am I right? Upsets and happiness, barbecues and running into people from high school. Let’s get after it, shall we?
First off: If I may, it was my mother’s birthday this weekend. I love her so much, she is amazing. She tells me I’m hilarious and I swear that the reason I am the way that I am is because once she saw a picture of Penelope Cruz and said, “I don’t get it, you’re prettier than her.” She was wrong, but that is what makes her the best mom ever. MOVING ON! What happened this weekend?
